I was so excited when we got the call...

Okay so don't get me wrong, I looooove designing short term rentals whether they're neutral insurance properties with a tiny budget or an Airbnb with a wild concept.

But I have to admit, I love it a liiiiiittle bit more when I get to spread my wings, get creative, and bring someone's fun & unique vision to life.

And this was absolutely one of those jobs.

When Melissa called us about designing her Airbnb in South Euclid, we were thrilled because she had three big requirements: bold pops of color, memorable moments, and an emphasis on local.

We were completely thrilled because Jes and I had been just itching to do a super colorful, funky design, and to show our hometown a little love. O-H! (iykyk)

To make things even more interesting, the owner had a startup budget that required a lot of creative solutions. Seems like a bad thing, right? Wrong-o! We work with lots of different kinds of budgets and honestly we love the challenge of stretching every penny once in awhile.

Between her initial vision and our ideas (and a LOT of back-and-forth to nail it all down) we came up with a concept she adored so much she named her rental after it: Sunscape Bungalow!

From the bedrooms (sunrise, sunset & twilight) to the basement lounge (Rock & Roll Hall of Fame themed) we filled the house top to bottom with memorable moments, fun details, and color color color!

Some of our favorite moments:

  • The custom painted headboard murals
  • The selfie wall in the Living Room
  • The disco ball 'chandelier'
  • The wallpapered open shelving
  • The custom-printed photos of Cleveland in nearly every room
  • The colorful details throughout like rainbow measuring cups, pink wine glasses, and the Kitcsh Harry Potter-themed satin pillow cases in the primary bedroom!

We know guests are going to love staying here so much, and they'll remember their trip to Northeast Ohio fondly, which couldn't make us any happier because we just love our hometown.

It's also a huge milestone for us because it was Jes's very last project with Rough Diamond Studios (click here to read about why!) and so it'll always have a special place in both our hearts.

Enjoy taking a stroll through the final result, and if you're ever in NE Ohio in need of a short term rental, you should bump this property right to the top of your list. 😁

P.S. The property was shot by our very favorite photographer Lisa Buie of Pixel Perfect Productions and I couldn't be more thrilled with the results. She was even on board to do a lifestyle shoot at the request of the owner, and I'm so glad we gave it a whirl because these pics bring the property to life and help guests envision what a stay there might actually feel like.
